MaAnt MY-903 Precision Screwdriver - Pentalobe 1.2 Tip
Description
The MaAnt MY-903 Pentalobe 1.2 mm screwdriver is a high-end metrology and maintenance tool, specifically calibrated for opening Apple laptops. Unlike Torx tips, the rounded branches of the Pentalobe require a micrometer adjustment of the tool to avoid any slipping that could permanently damage the screw head or aluminum chassis.
Technically, this screwdriver stands out for its use of an induction-hardened S2 alloy steel, reaching a hardness greater than or equal to 60 HRC. This feature gives it exceptional resistance to abrasion and torsion, allowing it to overcome the resistance of the factory-applied threadlocker on the lower cover screws. The screwdriver body is CNC-machined from anodized aluminum alloy, offering a stable grip, balanced weight, and increased durability against corrosive products used in the workshop.
The professional ergonomics of the MY-903 are enhanced by a 360° rotating cap mounted on a precision axis. This mechanism allows the technician to exert a constant vertical force with the palm of the hand while ensuring smooth rotation with the fingers, ensuring total control of the applied torque. The integrated non-slip grip on the handle ensures optimal handling safety, essential for meticulous interventions on premium computer equipment.

Workshop & Usage Advice
The Pentalobe 1.2 profile is particularly prone to slipping due to its shallow impression depth. To avoid damaging screw heads, always hold the screwdriver perfectly perpendicular to the MacBook cover and apply a firm axial pressure before turning. If the screw seems stuck, we recommend a light application of local heat to liquefy the threadlocker. Regularly clean the S2 tip grooves with a dry brush to remove metal micro-particles and ensure a consistently perfect fit.
