Product Description

RF4 - Professional Microscope LED Ring Light - 5800K (OK-15)

Description

The RF4 OK-15 LED lamp is a high-performance ring lighting device, essential for micro-soldering and precision inspection. For level 3 motherboard repairs, the quality of light directly determines the technician's ability to detect microscopic defects such as oxidised solder balls or broken tracks. The OK-15 delivers a pure white light of 5800K, offering faithful colour rendering and optimal contrast on protective coatings (solder mask).

Technically, this ring is equipped with 28 LED light points strategically arranged to eliminate cast shadows, even when using large tweezers. The optical system integrates a diffuser filter that softens the light beam, thus preventing glare caused by light reflection on metallic components or IC chip crystals. This feature is crucial for preventing eye strain during prolonged sessions under a binocular microscope.

The ergonomics of the RF4 OK-15 are designed for modern laboratory environments. It is powered via a simple USB port, allowing a direct connection to the workstation or the microscope screen. Its thumbwheel power dimmer allows for smooth intensity modulation, adapting to the reflectivity of each surface (bare copper, tin, aluminium) without flickering (flicker-free).

Workshop Advice & Usage

For optimal inspection of BGA solder joints, we recommend setting the brightness to approximately 70% and slightly tilting your motherboard if necessary. The 5800K temperature is perfect for detecting "dry joints" which appear duller than healthy solder joints. Regularly clean the protective surface of the ring using a dry microfibre cloth to prevent the accumulation of solder flux residue, which could yellow over time and alter the colour temperature of the lighting.
