SK hynix 256 GB M.2 NVMe PCIe Gen3 x4 SSD – Refurbished
Description
The SK hynix 256 GB NVMe SSD is an OEM-grade storage component, rigorously selected for its reliability and energy efficiency. Designed by one of the world's leaders in semiconductors, this module is ideal for replacing failing drives or upgrading professional IT fleets (laptops from the Dell Latitude, HP EliteBook, or Lenovo ThinkPad ranges). Its advanced power consumption management makes it a valuable ally for maintaining mobile device battery life while providing instant system responsiveness.
Technically, this SSD incorporates SK hynix's proprietary 4D NAND technology, which combines a stacked cell structure with optimised peripheral logic. This architecture allows for transfer rates up to three times higher than traditional SATA SSDs, while maintaining a low thermal signature. The integrated controller natively manages hardware encryption and advanced error correction (ECC) functions, ensuring the long-term integrity of critical professional data.
As a refurbished product, each unit has undergone a strict workshop testing protocol. Health indicators (SMART) are checked to guarantee a write cycle potential (TBW) consistent with intensive use. The standard M.2 2280 form factor ensures mechanical compatibility with almost all modern motherboards supporting the NVMe protocol.

Workshop Advice & Usage
For deployment across a fleet of machines, we recommend checking the firmware version via the "SK hynix Drive Manager" tool. On some ultra-thin laptop models, the SK hynix controller may heat up during very large file transfers (>50 GB); applying an ultra-slim heat sink (copper shim) or a 0.5mm thermal pad can help stabilise performance. Please note: this drive is an "M-Key", it cannot be inserted into old "B-Key" ports which are only compatible with SATA.
