Workshop Advice & Usage

Warning: the 2230 format is extremely sensitive to static electricity and heat during assembly. In the case of a replacement on a Steam Deck, it is imperative to replace the electromagnetic shielding (the original metal sleeve) on the new SSD to avoid any interference with the Wi-Fi module located just below. Never force insertion into the M.2 slot; a 30 degree angle is necessary for correct engagement of the pins before screwing. Systematically check the firmware version if you are performing a group installation on a fleet of Surface tablets.
